About the ContentAsia Awards
Why we exist?
The ContentAsia Awards bring ContentAsia’s experience, depth of knowledge and integrity into Asia’s Awards space.
There are three elements to what we see as our superpower:
- The ContentAsia Awards are deeply rooted in ContentAsia’s year-round day-in-day-out dedicated focus on and connection with Asia’s content industry.
- The ContentAsia Awards are 100% judged by industry peers with hands-on knowledge and experience of the creative & production process. As importantly, entries are put before a range of judges with acquisitions and sales functions; they know what they want, what they buy and why. Our approach is that production cannot happen in a vacuum; if no-one buys it, is it worth making?
- The ContentAsia Awards are independent of sponsorship from companies eligible to submit entries in the Awards.
Here’s the background…
The inaugural Awards were held in 2020, a pandemic moment that highlighted the gigantic demand for screen-based content – as if we needed any more proof.
The response was way higher than we could have imagined. Streamed live on Facebook, the Awards had an organic reach of 339,234 people, with approx 3,000 comments and 1,162 reactions. 60,525 people viewed the live stream. If launching a new event in the middle of a pandemic seemed crazy, the response laid any last doubts to rest.
In 2023, our first large-scale on-ground event after the pandemic, the ContentAsia Awards ceremony in Bangkok was attended by 200+ people and covered by 22 media outlets across Asia. Social media posts that mentioned the ContentAsia Awards 2023 had ~199 million impressions (as of 12 Sept 2023). We shifted to Taiwan in 2024 – and it was stellar.
And so here we are in 2025… Year Six, back in Taiwan for the second time, and counting down to celebrating once again everything good about local premium video production in Asia.
Whatever did (or didn’t and continues to – or not) happen across the media industry, great content continues to be in massive demand, and there’s really never a bad time to be celebrating the best of it.
When you think of it, our Awards at this time are more important than ever, providing pointers to outstanding content at a time of seismic change in how audiences are kept entertained and informed.
The ContentAsia Awards are owned and operated by ContentAsia, a 19-year-old information platform curated to offer insights into Asia’s content environment.
