Judges

ContentAsia Awards judges are people who, through years of experience, have sharp instincts about what will work where, are able to feel their way around a production blindfolded, can sniff flaws from a mile away, and are able to value each entry fairly and equally on its own merits. Basically, people who live and breathe content, always have and always will. Plus, people who will have no issues with watching entries from start to finish, and can be honest and impartial about what they think.

Judging will take place from 21 June to 2 August. Nominees will be announced in the first week of August. Winners will be announced on Friday, 27 August.

Entries, judging, nominees and winners will be managed separately from ContentAsia’s publishing and events businesses.

Jose Mari R. Abacan
First VP, Program Management, GMA Network, Inc & Project Director, GMA Network Films, Inc (Philippines)

Jose Mari Abacan has been involved in the television and film industries for more than 27 years. Among other achievements, he paved the way for GMA-7 to become the pioneer in Koreanovelas, Thai series (Lakorn) and Turkish dramas in the Philippines. Early in his career, he was the supervising producer of award-winning GMA Telesine Specials (made-for-television movies), and today spearheads the DTT (digital terrestrial) channels of GMA Network, Inc. (Heart of Asia, I Heart Movies, HallyPop & DepEd TV).

Myleeta Aga

Myleeta is a content creator, business leader & humanist with a recognised track record of having transformed content organisations in multiple countries and across functions. Currently based in Singapore, she runs a media consultancy that, among other projects, advises Indonesian conglomerate Emtek on content strategy as its scales up VOD service, Vidio. Myleeta previously worked for Netflix and BBC Studios in various roles, including P&L responsibility for operations across Asia. Before that, she worked at Discovery Networks in Washington DC for 8 years, where she executive produced Emmy-winning series “Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations”.

Yeni Priana Anshar
Director of Programming, NET Mediatama Televisi (NET TV) Indonesia

Yeni Priana Anshar started her career as a broadcaster at Indonesian free-TV network RCTI in 1995, and for 14 years held a number of strategic positions in the Emtek group, both at SCTV (2001-2013) and Indosiar (2013-2014). As head of programming at Indosiar, she was involved in talent search programme, “D’Academy”, which took Indosiar to #1 position in 2014. She built a clear and strong programme positioning for Rajawali Televisi (RTV), where she worked from 2015 to 2020, enabling rapid performance growth in Indonesia’s fiercely competitive free-TV environment. Yeni was also head of programming for TV One, where she plays a role in creating flagship shows such as “One Pride”. She joined Net TV in March last year.

Roxanne Barcelona
Vice President, Worldwide Division, GMA Network, Philippines

Roxanne J. Barcelona is the vice president of GMA Network Inc’s Worldwide Division, the group tasked with the distribution of GMA’s content worldwide. She has nearly 40 years experience in the broadcast industry. In 1996, she joined GMA Worldwide Inc, a subsidiary of GMA Network Inc, to handle both foreign and local programme acquisitions and programme distribution. For the next 18 years with GMA Worldwide until 2014, she was the head of acquisitions, acquiring content for GMA Network Inc. From 2014 to the present, she heads the syndication and distribution business of GMA Network Inc under the network’s Worldwide Division.

Anthony Buncio
VP, Development, Screenplay Films (Indonesia)

Anthony has 20 years of experience working in the U.S. and Asia as a creative executive, producer/show runner and editor. He currently spearheads creative development & content strategy for one of Indonesia’s major film and TV studios, Screenplay Films, as VP of Development. Previously, he was the regional executive producer for streaming platform iflix. He made his first foray in the region launching global formats with Fox Networks Group, Sony Pictures and CBS Studios International (Asia’s Next Top Model, China’s Next Top Model). He started his career in the U.S. as a line producer on feature films & lead editor, supervising producer on several hit shows.

Banpot Chawangorn
CIO & Head, Int’l Content Sales, JKN Global Media (Thailand)

Banpot has worked with JKN Global Media in Bangkok since February 2018, and has been a key member of the team driving the successful expansion of Thai content around the region. In addition to his role on the management team of JKN’s new DTT channel, JKN18, he is involved in forging development and investment relationships for JKN’s slate of original productions, including the first Thai version of “Project Runway”.

 

Chen Kheng On
Assistant General Manager, Content, Unifi TV, TM Net/Unifi /TV (Malaysia)

Kheng On has been involved in the acquisition and implementation of content initiatives for Telekom Malaysia’s Interactive linear, non-linear, VOD)and OTT channels since 2007. His current role includes overseeing the group’s content strategy – acquisition, budget, promotion and performance – in order to increase consumer demand for high speed data usage. Prior to joining Telekom Malaysia, he worked for Malaysian media/production companies Juita Viden and Inspidea.

Shao-yi Chen
Director, Content Production, Screenworks Asia (Taiwan)

Shao-yi Chen has led content production at new production house Screenworks Asia since mid-2020, following an association with Catchplay in Taiwan going back to 2013. Over the past 16 years, she has also worked for Huayi Brothers Pictures, Serenity Entertainment International, Double Edge Entertainment and Three Dots Entertainment.

Angela Cheung
Managing Director, APV (Hong Kong)

Angela has more than 25 years of experience in broadcast and creative, she has produced award-winning content for some of the world’s biggest brands. Angela set up the Broadcast Marketing department at Hong Kong Disneyland when it launched in 2005. Prior to that, she worked as regional director of Production at Walt Disney Television Asia Pacific with responsibility for Disney’s original long-form content in the region. Angela was also Fremantle Asia’s first head of production, overseeing popular formats such as Family Feud and The Pyramid Game.  

Shigeko (Cindy) Chino
Assoc. Managing Director, International Business Development, Nippon Television (Japan)

After joining Nippon Television Network Corporation in 1986, Cindy worked as a director/producer of programmes and news coverage. From 2000, Cindy shifted to the international sector, involved in corporate relations, publicity, business strategy, and programme/format sales. Presently managing the sales team for all programme genres in all territories, she is responsible for creating new business opportunities abroad, as well as increasing Nippon TV’s content and format sales to overseas markets.

Art Kaneearch Dandumrongsuk
Channel 3, Thailand

Art Kaneearch has overseen the production of over 50 television programmes since 2003 with Thai TV3, including drama, sitcom, comedy, reality, international formats, animation, game shows, quiz shows, documentaries and entertainment reports. He has also hosted more than 300 hours of national television programmes and​ ​is an experienced stage, feature film and television actor, writer and​ ​producer. 

Peter Draw
Digital Artist & Animator

Peter Zhuo, better known as Peter Draw, is the multi-award-winning digital artist/animator behind “Ai and Aiko”, which he says “presents human realities that poignantly define modern life; Sorrow, Love and finding one’s Life Purpose”. The property has 29 billion views on Giphy, 157,000+ Instagram followers and more than a million views of animated film, “Love Can Happen Anywhere” on YouTube. Draw has participated in numerous initiatives for social good, including Project Yume, an an art-for-hope humanitarian effort to empower children in Aceh (Indonesia), Sichuan (China) & Fukushima, (Japan), among others. Most recently, Draw created Mr. Left, an everyday character in a world defined by heroes and perfection.

Jose Escalante
CEO-Director, Latin Media Corporation

Jose has been CEO-director of international acquisition, production and distribution company, Latin Media Corporation, since September 2009. The company maintains strong content links with Asia, acquiring series from, among other markets, Malaysia and Thailand, for distribution in Latin America. Jose’s previous roles include president and CEO at Dori Media and CEO and vice president at RCTV International.

Magdalene Ew
Head of Content – Entertainment, India, SEA & Korea, WarnerMedia

Magdalene has more than 20 years of regional media experience. Towards the end of last year, she took charge of WarnerMedia’s consolidated entertainment pillar including all HBO channels, Warner TV and Oh!K as well as Ding Ji Theatre in China. As WarnerMedia’s Head of Content – Entertainment, India, Southeast Asia & Korea, she also oversees entertainment original productions in the region, including HBO Asia Originals. She joined HBO Asia in Singapore in 2008 following roles with, among other companies, Discovery and MTV Asia.

Sonia Fleck
CEO, Bomanbridge Media

Sonia has worked in the television industry for 20 years, starting with theatrical film sales with indies such as Summit & Icon Films, before moving into TV content distribution. In 2007, she launched Bomanbridge Media, a content distribution & deficit finance group, based in Monaco. With the expansion of Asia’s media landscape, the company established its HQ in Singapore. The global distribution arm represents approx 5,000 hours of quality primetime programming, including originals & independent productions across all genres. Bomanbridge Media has equity investment from Hera Capital to further invest in content development.

Michael Fleisher
VP, Strategy, Corporate Development and Business Affairs, Brandwith

Michael is a commercial media lawyer who has worked with the BBC, BBC Film, Bob Geldof’s production company Planet 24 on “The Big Breakfast”, and the “The Word”, the Mirror Group’s infamous “Live TV”, the launch of Channel 5 in the U.K., Chrysalis, UK Film Council, Kidsco, Channel 4, C4I, Discovery, NBCU, Nickelodeon, UKTV and MD Entertainment (Indonesia).  He came to Singapore five years ago, jumping into the brave new world of OTT working at iflix and Hooq as General Counsel. He currently works with Monty Ghai at media distribution, advertising and marketing company, Brandwith.

Mark Francis
Head of Content (OTT), Astro (Malaysia)

Mark is an award-winning executive producer and commissioner, with over a decade of experience in creating innovative programming for regions that include Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and Latin America. He was most recently appointed to head content at Astro’s indie streamer sooka in Malaysia. Mark was previously chief content officer at iflix. Before that he served as vice president of commissioning and regional programming for Nat Geo Partners in London, and head of production for Fox Networks Group APAC & Middle East. He began his broadcasting career at Discovery Networks Asia Pacific.

Scott Freeman
Executive Producer

Scott is an Emmy-winning executive producer whose credits include The Challenge (MTV), Stars in Danger: The High Dive (Fox), Valerie’s Home Cooking (Food), Saddle Ranch (VH1), Motor City Masters (truTV), Disney’s TRYathlon (Disney Channel), Wealth Hunters (TLC), and the film, Pedro. Currently consulting with various reality and format producers, Scott is a 25+ years veteran of Bunim/Murray Productions (BMP) with executive titles in original production, development and international. He was involved with hit shows such as The Real WorldRoad RulesStarting Over and The Simple Life in addition to the series he executive produced. He played a key role in format acquisitions and worked closely with the Banijay Group after BMP joined the group in 2010.

Danny Fung

Danny began his career in the content business more than two decades ago writing for film directors John Woo and Tsui Hark, producing live radio shows for Hong Kong’s Metro Broadcast, and moved into content production, acquisitions, programming, strategic development of short- & long-form, as well as digital content and brand management, starting with TVB Hong Kong, followed by Indosiar (Jakarta), NBC Asia, Disney Studios, Turner Broadcasting/WarnerMedia), Viacom Int’l Media Networks, and most recently as VP/Head of Content, Programming & Operations for KC Global Media’s AXN, One, Gem & Animax.

Gunawan Goony
Senior Manager, Acquisition & Distribution, ANTV (Indonesia)

Gunawan joined Indonesian free-TV broadcaster ANTV in 2003 following almost a decade at TPI/MNCTV, during which he acquired local and foreign content, including telenovelas, Thai lakorn and Mandarin series & movies. In 2013, he became part of ANTV’s new programming team, which drove the station to the #1 TV channel in Indonesia with content collaborations and international titles including Indian series, sinetron and scripted formats along with global reality formats. He was promoted to Senior Acquisition & Distribution Manager ANTV in 2018.

Chris Humphrey
Director of Production & Development, A+E Networks Asia Pacific

Based in Singapore, Chris is an award-winning executive producer responsible for supervising all commissions, co-productions and development out of Asia. Since 2008, Chris has executive produced more than 400 hours of original regional content for History, Lifetime, FYI, Crime + Investigation and H2. These include U.S. Day-time Emmy winner, “Scars of Nanking”. Chris has also written & directed biographies, including a 90-minute biography on post-war Tokyo, “Tokyo Legacy”. In January 2021, he wrote/directed A+E Asia’s “COVID vs The World”. Chris is Head of Studies to the Crossing Borders Scheme – a European Union- and Asian-funded training programme for young filmmakers in Europe & Asia.

Lester Yangzi Hu
Head of Formats and International Business, Hunan TV (China)

Lester heads up formats and international business at Hunan TV. He plays an important role in supporting original content creation and oversees format business, including acquisition, distribution and co-development. Working with 26 in-house production teams, Lester has led the acquisition and adaptation of formats such as 1vs.100, Take Me Out, Your Face Sounds Familiar and Gogglebox. He has structured multiple co-development partnerships leading to a slate of national hits such as Sing or Spin and Dance Smash. Lester joined Hunan TV in 2008. He has a MA in Digital Asset and Media Management from King’s College London.

Macie Imperial
Head, Integrated Program Acquisition & Int’l Distribution, ABS-CBN

Macie joined ABS-CBN in 2000 to acquire content for theatrical release under ABS-CBN subsidiary Sky Films. In 2007, she became programme acquisitions head for pay TV, including sports. Her decades in the media industry includes stints as account director, buyer and executive producer at ad agency Asia Communications Center, Radio Philippines Network (RPN Channel 9) and block time company Consumer Connection in Mass Media (CCMM). Prior to joining ABS-CBN, Macie held the position of vice president and assistant general manager of New Vision in Media Marketing (NVMM) and PTV Channel 4.

Shinetsetseg (Shinee) Jargalsaikhanrtika
Director of Programming, NTV (Mongolia)

Shinee became director of programming for Mongolian free-TV network NTV in 2013, following about six years with the free-TV network as a journalist, editor and later editor in chief. She joined NTV in 2007 following stints at MNB Mongolia and ITV Mongolia.  

Vanita Kohli-Khandekar
Journalist and author (India)

Vanita Kohli-Khandekar is an India-based media specialist. She has been tracking the Indian media and entertainment business for more than 20 years, and is the author of “The Indian Media Business” and “”The Making of Star India: The Amazing Story of Rupert Murdoch’s India Adventure”, published by Penguin Random House India in July 2019. Vanita is a columnist and writer for one of India’s leading financial papers, Business Standard, and writes for ContentAsia. She has previously worked for Ernst & Young and at Businessworld magazine. A Cambridge University press fellow (2000), Vanita has taught at some of the top media schools in India. She is routinely called in as an expert speaker on television shows, conferences and other events around the business of media (TV, print, radio, online et al), entertainment and journalism. 

Ella Kartika
CEO, MNC Studios International (Indonesia)

Ella joined MNC in 2008 and has held various senior positions across programming, production, sales & marketing. She currently also serves as commissioner of PT Rajawali Citra Televisi Indonesia (RCTI), PT Global Informasi Bermutu (GTV) and PT MNC Televisi Network (iNews). In addition, she is managing director of PT MNC Pictures, president director of PT MNC Lisensi Internasional and PT MNC Studios International.  She was previously sales and marketing director for GTV in 2008, becoming GTV’s programming and production director in 2010. In 2011, she moved to RCTI as programming & production director. In 2013, she returned to GTV as MD.

Sebastian Kim
Global Sales Director, CJ ENM

Seb joined CJ ENM in 2007 as VP for International Business Development in Seoul. He led the development and launch of regional channel tvN Asia in 2009 and shifted to Hong Kong in 2012 as Head of Commercial for CJ ENM Hong Kong. In 2017 he was promoted to Managing Director. Two years later, in July 2019, he returned to Seoul as Global Sales Director..

Benjamin Lai
Executive Director, YAM Cultural Limited

In his 25 years in the media and entertainment industry, Benjamin has worked for Star TV, Television Broadcasts Ltd (TVB), Tang Media Group in the U.”S. and China. He founded YAM Cultural Limited in Hong Kong, focusing on production and syndication including distributing Fox TV’s Golden Bell Awards winner “Someday or One Day” to Tencent and iQiyi in China. He also produced two Thai dramas for Tencent Holdings in 2020 and 2021. His filmography includes associate producer for Vietnamese movie “100 Days of Sunshine”, which won Best Movie Award at the Golden Kite Awards in 2018.

Mark Laudi
CEO, Hong Bau Media (Singapore)

Mark Laudi is a media and communications mentor with 24 years of expertise in the media industry, including mission-critical B2B communications, crisis communications, public speaking and presentation skills. Prior to Mark’s current role as the CEO of Hong Bao Media, he has held almost every position in the newsroom of CNBC Asia Pacific: Stock Reporter, Anchor, Field Reporter, Producer, Editor. At the age of 28, he launched CNBC Australia in Sydney as bureau chief. Mark started his career in media at the age of 21 as Australia’s youngest radio current affairs show host at ABC radio. Continuing his career in the radio media industry in Singapore, he was a member of the inaugural and presentation team of English language talk radio station 938 LIVE.

Vitto Lazatin
VP – Content Acquisition, Management & Strategy, Cignal TV (Philippines)

Vitto’s 20-year journey through the Philippine media industry spans from radio to pay TV to free-to-air. A journey that has taken him from being in front of the microphone/camera to behind it, en route to his current responsibilities as vice president of content acquisition, management & strategy for Cignal TV, the leading pay TV provider in the Philippines.

Marianne Lee
Head of Content Acquisition & Licensing, Viu

Marianne is a content professional with a career built around fan generation. Lee has held senior leadership positions in content acquisition, curation, production, marketing, social media, research and change management. Before her appointment at regional streamer Viu, she worked for WarnerMedia leading Marketing & Brand Services with the primary focus of driving subscription for HBO Go. Prior to this, she built a from-the-ground-up general entertainment department at Turner. There she defined and executed content and channel strategy, set new industry standards, best practices and identified key tentpole content to create fan devotion. She has also worked for NBCUniversal and for Sony Pictures Entertainment Networks Asia.

Mee Fung Lee
Managing Director, PIK Film (Malaysia)

Mee Fung’s media career spans over 28 years across Asia. She has worked for leading broadcasters and pay TV operators, where she played strategic roles in content and promotions. In 2005, she moved into independent production as co-executive producer and marketing strategist for film and TV projects that garnered multiple awards and achieved commercial success in Malaysia. In 2007, Mee Fung became the owner of PIK Film, a Malaysia-based distribution and content agency with a portfolio of content brands with interests in North and Southeast Asia. Today, PIK Film has expanded into production of purposeful and meaningful factual content. 

Sandie Lee
EVP & Channel Head, Rewind Networks

A television veteran with more than three decades experience, Sandie heads up the channel content, acquisitions and communications for regional channels operator, Rewind Networks, which operates two channels – HITS and HITS Movies. Before joining Rewind Networks as part of the founding team, she was VP, content at Singapore platform StarHub, where, among other things, she initiated and launched locally packaged channels. Sandie was also involved in the launch of international channels that debuted in Singapore before rolling out to the rest of Asia. Sandie previously worked for the Television Corporation of Singapore (now Mediacorp).

Christine Leo-McKerrow

A media veteran with three decades of experience, Christine has written her first novel, set in Singapore during World War 2, and consults for companies looking to expand their experience in the region. She previously worked in both traditional and new media, including BBC, Viacom, Hopster and Singtel.

Mamie Leung
SVP & Head of Content, PCCW Media Ltd (Hong Kong)

Mamie is a seasoned professional in Hong Kong’s media industry. She has been leading Now TV’s content strategies, developing its diverse content portfolio and partnerships to help build Now TV into Hong Kong’s most successful pay-TV business and overseeing its expansion to digital media via Now E, an innovative OTT entertainment service launched in 2018. Mamie also heads up Now TV’s sports production and is driving new VR and AR content initiatives and collaborations for HKT’s true 5G services. 

Virginia Lim
Chief Content Officer, Mediacorp (Singapore)

Virginia joined Mediacorp in Singapore in July 2021. She was previously chief content officer for PCCW Media’s Viu streaming platform, which she joined in 2019 after more than a decade at Sony Pictures Television Networks Asia in various roles, including senior vice president and general manager responsible for distribution, advertising revenue and overall content strategy for five regional channels – AXN, ONE, GEM, Animax and Sony Channel – as well as vice president for Asian content. Before joining Sony’s Asia networks division in 2008 as programming director for Animax Asia, Virginia worked for Singapore-based pay-TV platform StarHub for about 10 years. Prior to StarHub, she was a current affairs producer for Mediacorp.

Jay Lin
Chief Executive Officer, Portico Media (Taiwan)

Jay established Taipei-based media company, Portico Media, in 2004, after returning to Taiwan from Northern California, and went on to found  the Taiwan International Queer Film Festival, GagaOOLala, the first queer streaming platform in Asia, and production house GOL Studios. He is also one of the organisers of the Marriage Equality Coalition in Taiwan. Portico Media works with some of the world’s best-known entertainment brands, including A+E Networks, ViacomCBS and DW.

May Wah Lwin
Channels Editorial Manager, Canal+ Myanmar

May Wah is channels editorial manager for CANAL+ Myanmar, responsible for managing nine in-house channels across a range of genres. She was responsible for launching the highest-rated original TV series on the platform as well as a local sports channel. May Wah has been involved in the broadcast media industry for the past 11 years.

Rich Magallanes
Creative Supervisor, Developer

With 20+ years in the entertainment business, Rich Magallanes brings a 360 experience to the table as a buyer, seller, creator, developer, producer and team leader. He has served as a lead Content Creator, Developer, Show Runner and Executive Producer for networks such as Nickelodeon, Saban Brands, Funrise Inc., and Mattel. Magallanes has produced hit shows that are recognised and beloved worldwide and is currently creating and show running “Rainbow Butterfly Unicorn Kitty”. Magallanes strives to produce the highest quality entertainment given any set of parameters, including creating original IP, boosting existing properties, working with toy-developers, building co-production partnerships, seeking out and establishing Asian Adaptions, and finding new publishing content. Currently, Magallanes is a Creative Supervisor for an international preschool series as well as consulting, developing, and creating for production studios worldwide.

Natasha Malhotra
Chief Content and Commercial Officer, Vuulr

Natasha joined Vuulr’s founding team in 2018 from Disney SEA, where she was VP/GM of Disney Channels and Branded Media and Content, working across the various business verticals on localisation of content, music and events. Prior to this she oversaw the Disney Channel business in India. Previous to Disney she spent over 11 years with Viacom, in India and MTVN APAC and later with the Arab Media Group as COO for MTV and Nick Arabia.

Bill McQueen
Founder/Chief Content Officer at Lime* Content Studios

With over three decades of production experience at some of the world’s biggest networks, including Disney, Cartoon Network, MTV and SKY UK, Bill has worked in every facet of broadcast TV. For close to a decade, he was also the Creative Director at Fox International Channels/National Geographic Channels Asia. During his tenure he created a powerhouse creative department winning over 35 prestigious Promax Awards. He set up Lime* Content Studios Hong Kong in 2010, specialising in a wide range of customised videos (including corporate, TVCs & branded content), strategising, digital solutions and a variety of digital and written projects. Recent clients include , Cathay Pacific, the Hyatt, CNN, Wall Street Journal and Herman Miller, among others.

Diane Min
Director, International Sales (Formats), CJ ENM

Diane is currently the head of format sales at CJ ENM, overlooking non-scripted and scripted format distribution in America, Europe, SE Asia and MENA regions for 16 cable networks. She joined CJ ENM in 2010 and was responsible for finished tape sales for China, SEA, America, Europe and MENA. Since 2015, she has successfully distributed more than 50 formats globally. Highlights include “Grandpas over Flowers” (a.k.a “Better Late Than Never”) for NBC and 10 more countries and “I Can See Your Voice” in 18 countries, including the U.S. (FOX), U.K. (BBC One), Germany (RTL), and the Netherlands (RTL4). Prior to CJ ENM, Diane worked at Cartoon Network Korea for four years.

Attaphon Na Bangxang
Chief Digital Content Officer, True Corporation (Thailand)

With more than 30 years of experience in the entertainment and sports industry, Attaphon Na Bangxang looks after content acquisition and partnership for digital media platform and content & programming for True Visions. He has played instrumental roles in securing licences for big branded formats, including True Academy Fantasia and the local version of Mexican musical talent show La Academia, as well as producing TV movies and drama series.

Chris Oliver-Taylor
CEO, Fremantle Asia Pacific

Chris started his career at the BBC in London, working across a number of production roles and programs, varying from Top of the Pops to Westminster Live. He emigrated to Australia in 2000 and worked at the ABC in a variety of senior roles across drama, entertainment and comedy, including Head of Production. In 2011, Chris moved to the independent production sector as Managing Director of Matchbox Pictures. His Executive Producer credits include The Slap (NBC/ABC Australia), The Heights (ABC Australia), Glitch (Netflix/ABC Australia) and Wanted (Seven Network Australia). In 2018, he was appointed Fremantle’s CEO Asia Pacific, were he leads the development and production of the company’s scripted and unscripted programming.

Ahmad Izham Omar
Executive Director, Content and Creative, Disney+ Southeast Asia

Izham Omar joined the The Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia in November 2020 following almost two decades at Malaysian media company Media Prima. The newly created role involves building a portfolio of TV series and movies for streaming platform Disney+ in Southeast Asia, including original programming and acquisitions. He also oversees the production of surround content for major sports and general entertainment programmes. Izham was previously CEO of Media Prima’s production house, Primeworks Studios. He began his media career in 2003 by launching free-TV network 8TV. He is also a multi award-winning music producer, arranger, songwriter and musician.

Fotini Paraskakis
Global EVP, Entertainment, The Story Lab

Fotini joined The Story Lab, part of Dentsu Aegis Network, as global EVP, entertainment, in Sept 2018. Previously MD Asia for Endemol Shine Group, she has been involved in 350+ content deals throughout Asia, including MasterChef, Big Brother, Deal or No Deal & Fear Factor and scripted brands such as The Bridge & Humans. Fotini is an experienced and respected member of the Asian and International media industries, with core expertise in building content properties such as Idols, Got Talent and X Factor as head of content for FremantleMedia Asia. Fotini moved to Asia in 1995. She is currently based in London and Singapore.

Quill Potter
Creative Director, ComedyFlix Asia

Quill has been involved in ComedyFlix, a global production house specialising in comedy, since January 2018. His long association with comedy in Asia includes stints as live show and festival producer for The Comedy Store in Singapore and the Singapore International Comedy Festival. In 2014/5, he created “Singapore Stripped – A Comedy Roast of The Lion City”, a hit comedy show aimed at tourists in Singapore. He also spent a year organising tours of international stand-up comedians in India and worked on top-rated Indian series such as “The Big Switch”, “SuperStud/Superdude” and “Emotional Atyaachar”. Before that he worked for Star TV, CNBC, Siren Film, and Asia Sports Television.

Agnes Rozario
Director of Content, Astro (Malaysia)

A pioneer at Astro, Agnes heads the Group’s content team from TV, film to digital across all languages. She was instrumental in moving the window for local and global blockbuster movies direct to home with Astro First and Astro Best and spearheads strategic partnerships with regional players, contributing to Astro’s streaming reach. An advocate of Asian originals, Agnes led Astro Shaw to new grounds with the highest grossing local movies of all time. Her commitment in content innovation has seen an increased engagement experience for Astro’s signatures and 4K UHD live production.

Michele Schofield
Senior Vice President, Content Distribution, One Animation

Michele is Senior Vice President, Content Distribution, for Singapore-based animation company, One Animation, the home of award-winning non-dialogue animated series “Oddbods”, which has more than 7.7 million YouTube subscribers and a presence on platforms everywhere from FPT in Vietnam and Mola TV in Indonesia to Netflix. Before One Animation, she worked for A+E Networks in various roles from 2007-2017, and for Turner Entertainment Networks Asia, Turner International Australia, and Discovery Networks’ Travel Channel in the U.S.

Ryan Shiotani
SVP, Content, Asia & Greater China, BBC Studios

Ryan joined BBC Studios in 2007 as Director, Programming, Asia, overseeing the editorial direction of BBC Studios’ Branded Services in Asia. He built the company’s portfolio to include BBC Earth, BBC Lifestyle, BBC First, CBeebies & BBC Player. In August 2019, Ryan became Acting SVP, Branded Services Asia, going on to become SVP & GM, South & South East Asia, BBC Studios, in Nov 2019. In April this year, he was appointed SVP, Content, Asia & Greater China. Prior to joining BBC Studios, Ryan worked across programming, acquisitions, content sales & production in Asia, Latin America, Europe & North America for Discovery Networks Latin America/Iberia, MTM Entertainment, TV Globo & Sesame Workshop.

Linda Shayne
Writer/Director

Linda Shayne graduated from UC Berkeley, worked in mental hospitals and wrote articles about San Quentin State Prison ex-offenders, preparing her to become a writer and director in film and television. Linda has created a scripted TV series for Quincy Jones QDE, two animated TV series for Warner Bros, and has written films for Showtime, Disney, Imagine and directed for Nickelodeon, Warner Bros and Paramount. She has won numerous awards for writing and directing, including Best Screenplay at the London New Renaissance Film Festival 2020 for “In Love with Einstein” and Best Directing Award at the Freedom International Film Festival 2020 for “Mirror Image”.

Stella Soh

Stella translates her passion in entertainment into her career with over 20 years of experience in building and operating media content across local, regional, and global networks. She has taken extensive roles in content strategy, business development, regional acquisition, distribution, content aggregation, as well as branded content ideation that covered traditional linear platforms and digital new media. Her most recent role was with Malaysia-based OTT platform, Dimsum Entertainment, where she pioneered a “Thai Wave” in Malaysia and neighbouring countries, including Brunei and Singapore.


Erlina Suharjono
Co-founder, I.E. Entertainment Pte Ltd

A senior entertainment executive with over 30 years’ experience in the motion picture Industry, Erlina co-founded distribution and production house, I.E. Entertainment, in 2021. She previously spent 24 years with Warner Bros. Pictures International in various roles, including EVP Asia Distribution and Managing Director of China and Hong Kong, helping to lead the continued growth, strategic direction and management of WBPI’s marketing and distribution operations throughout Asia during a period of intense growth and competition specifically in China, a tough market to crack in both censorship and limited film quota. She has also held multiple roles with Cathay Organisation (exhibitor & distributor).

Indra Suharjono
Senior Media Advisor, JKN Global Media (Thailand)

Indra has been Senior Media Advisor to Thailand’s JKN Global Media PLC since 2019, with a remit to drive Thai drama distribution globally and to strike partnerships for JKN Originals. Prior to JKN, she led Taiwan’s Next Animation Studio as CEO for three years. In her 32 years in Asia’s media & entertainment industry, she spent a decade with Viacom International Media Networks Asia, including a role as EVP and MD, Asia. Indra also spent 12 years at TimeWarner in Asia, holding senior positions with Warner Bros. Pictures Int’l., Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Turner Entertainment Networks Asia. Indra also sits on the board of Cathay Organisation Holdings.

Joe Suteestarpon
Founder, Mediaplex Group (Thailand)

Joe founded Mediaplex International in 2013 to represent premium content ranging from domestic OTT platform Doonee and linear channels on pay satellite television to branded blocks on free TV services with country-wide coverage. He has been involved in Thailand’s media and entertainment industry for nearly 20 years.

Lina Tan
Founder, RED Communications/RED Films (Malaysia)

Lina founded production house RED Communications Sdn Bhd in 1999, followed by RED Films in 2004. She has created a variety of television programmes and commercials focusing on women and youth issues as well as educational content for kids; created original content and adapted international formats such as Project Runway and Club Mickey Mouse; and produced 12 Malaysian feature films, including  Kami, Pisau Cukur, Songlap, Istanbul Aku Datang, Kami Histeria, Huat, Manisnya Cinta, Rembat , Mrs K and Gol & Gincu 1 and Vol. 2. She is currently on the Board of Malaysia’s FINAS and also an adjunct Professor in the School of Media and Communications, Taylor’s University.

William Tan
Senior Advisor, The Content Connected Company (China)

William has more than 18 years of experience in the Chinese market. He has played a central role in shaping the strategic direction of Endemol Shine Group and Viacom International Media Networks in China for more than a decade. Among other brands, he brought Big Brother, The Brain, MasterChef, Mr Bean, Humans, MTV and Nickelodeon to multiple platforms. William recently joined startup, The Content Connected Company, as senior adviser to drive the development of scripted dramas, documentaries, non scripted shows & ancillary licensing.

Lorna Tee
Film Producer, Curator & Festival Organiser

Film veteran Lorna Tee has worked for Focus Films (HK), Variety (U.S.), Irresistible Films (HK/Japan) as well as Berlinale and CinemAsia Film Festival. She was also the founder/Head of Festival Management for the International Film Festival & Awards Macao. Her filmography includes The Beautiful Washing Machine, Rain Dogs, Postcards from the Zoo and Mrs K. She is developing film projects in Asia with her production company Paperheart, mentors/lectures with film training programmes/labs and consults for international film institutions and film funds. She is currently the year-round programming consultant for Cinematheque Passion Macao. Lorna divides her time between Asia and Europe. She divides her time between Asia and Europe.

Duangnapa (Hong) Termkraisri
IP & Contract Management Manager, BEC World (Thailand)

Duangnapa “Hong” has been involved in content acquisition for the past 25 years, covering multiple genres including U.S. television series, theatrical movies, formats, animated series and documentary as well as sports and events for Thai free-TV network Channel 3. From 2011 to 2017, she was charged with distributing Channel 3 dramas to China and Southeast Asia.

Krissada Trishnananda
Content & Programming Director, PPTV HD36 (Thailand)

Krissada is Content & Programming Director of Thailand Bangkok Media and Broadcasting Company’s digital terrestrial station PPTV HD36. With over 20 years of programming experience, he is responsible for both local and international content for the station, including his involvement in international formats franchises such as The Voice Thailand and International Sports such as Bundesliga. Prior to this, Trishnananda worked for Thailand’s free-TV station BBTV Channel 7.

Tina B. Tubongbanua

Artine Utomo
Chief Executive Officer, RTV – Rajawali Televisi Indonesia

Artine is responsible for managing nationwide terrestrial TV station RTV’s overall portfolio, including curating compelling content for Indonesian viewers. Her mandate is to develop and expand RTV’s viewership and relevance, and deliver creative excellence. With almost two decades of experience in Indonesia’s broadcasting industry, Artine’s roles have included CEO of free-TV station PT Cipta TPI (2003-2009) and CEO of content development company PT Festival Citra (2011-2016).

Lily Wang
SVP, Production, Asia, 9 Story/Brown Bag Films

Lily Wang holds a graduate certificates in both Business (Auckland University of Technology New Zealand) and Film, TV and Multimedia Entertainment (UCLA USA). She co-founded animation studio, Bali Animasi Solusi Ekakarsa (BASE), in 2015 in Indonesia, with Daniel Harjanto. Prior to that, Lily worked globally throughout the animation industry, including Nickelodeon Burbank and Infinite Studios Batam. Lily’s production credits include TV series “Franklin & Friends”, “Garfield”, “Peter Rabbit”, “Octonauts”, “Sonic Boom”, “Luna Petunia”, “Vampirina” and “Angele’s Christmas Wish”, among others. BASE was acquired by 9 Story Media Group in 2019, and Lily was appointed as SVP Production Asia to continue managing the operation and production for 9 Story/Brown Bag Films in Asia.

Derek Wong
Vice President & Head, Production and Creative, KC Global Media

Derek oversees all production & creative activities for KC Global Media Asia Pacific. With more than 25 years of TV content production experience in both long- and short-form, Derek is responsible for some of the most successful television formats produced in Asia, including “The Amazing Race Asia” series, “Apprentice Asia” and “Asia’s Got Talent”. Derek started his production career in the Hong Kong film industry and subsequently moved to the TV sector with TVB and Star. He relocated to Singapore in 2002 to join Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia.

Daphne Yang
CEO, Catchplay (Taiwan)


Daphne joined Catchplay in 2012. She launched the Catchplay+ streaming service in Taiwan, Singapore & Indonesia in 2016, and extended the company’s reach upstream into co-production investments and financing. In 2019, Catchplay ventured into drama series distribution with “The World Between Us” (with WarnerMedia’s HBO Asia) and “The Making of An Ordinary Woman” (with Taiwan’s CTS). In July 2020, Daphne expanded investments and established production subsidiary, Screenworks Asia, jointly backed by Taiwan government’s National Development Fund. Screenworks Asia aims to produce 100 hours of premium content a year. Prior to joining Catchplay, Daphne worked for international advertising agencies and Taiwan Mobile.

Dennis Yang
Founder & CEO, Studio76 (Taiwan)

Dennis is the Founder/CEO of three-year-old Studio76, a joint investment with Taiwan’s KKBOX Group, MegaBank & Asahi Broadcast Group’s Dream Ventures from Japan. With more than 20 years of experience in the digital entertainment business and creative operations across Asia, Dennis is driving a concept centred around raising & managing a regional content fund to develop “digital-first” Chinese original IP from Taiwan for streaming-oriented, genre-focused TV movies in mini-series formats and to distribute to global digital and TV platforms. 

Cora Yim
Chief Content Officer & Co-founder, Sixty Percent Productions

Cora is front and centre of a streaming-driven content gold rush the likes of which has never before been experienced, with decades of credentials, a broad network, and access to funding. Her Sixty Percent Productions with partner Kit Low was formally set up at the end of 2020, based in Hong Kong with a North Asia focus but with eyes on good stories from anywhere in the region. Their first project is premium Chinese anthology series “Taiwan Crime Stories”, co-financed and co-produced with Imagine Entertainment and Benjamin Lin’s Taiwan-based CalFilms Asia, and with a production grant from Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture. 

Kaung Zaw
General Manager, Channel Division (MRTV4, Channel 7, Forever Group), Myanmar

Kaung has been involved in Myanmar’s broadcasting industry for more than six years, including stints at 4TV and Canal+ Myanmar as programme operation manager. His current role at the Forever Group covers content strategy, planning acquisition and programming for MRTV4 & Channel 7.
